Gorilla Snot Gel Review.

Gorilla Snot Gel Review.

Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen, I have seen so many reviews on the Gorilla Snot Gel and I didn't like the name of the product at all but saw that a lot of you liked this gel and had good things to say about the way it made your hair look and the way it holds.

This was my first time buying this particular brand and when I opened the cap I was actually glad that it was a blue colored gel, not the gel that comes out of your nose. lol.

I smelled the gel and it had a very strong minty smell and it had the exact smell of toothpaste.  I didn't care for the fragrance at all.

It was a nice size container so what the heck, I was going to try it out and see what this gel was about.

I squeezed some out and rubbed my hands together before I put it on my hair and it was very sticky, I said: " this is not going to well." Don't like products that are overly sticky.

Put it on my hair and my hair didn't feel good but when I looked in the mirror this product worked just like the reviewers said all curls were defined and it held very well.

It made my hair look so pretty but I did see a little build up in the front of my head.  Maybe I should have dampened my hair a little before I applied it.

There were some things that I didn't like about this gel as previously stated but I am going to continue to use the rest of the Gorilla Snot Gel because I do like the way my hair looks and it only cost $2.99 and you are getting 340 grams and I think that is a lot of product for that price.

It made my hair feel hard to the touch once it dried.

I think that they should keep the gel blue but make the gel with no fragrance because it felt like I was putting toothpaste on my hair (Yuck, Yuck)!

Many retailers sell this product and you can also look online to order.

To Wear Makeup Or Not To Wear Makeup (Commentary)

There has been a great debate regarding makeup since Alicia Keys decided that she will not wear makeup and she is sporting a more natural look.  Alicia Keys is a beautiful woman and she definitely can make that choice because she doesn't have any notable flaws.  I am sure that a lot of women will follow her lead and she is just showing young girls that they can be comfortable in their own skin.

Beauty is definitely in the eyes of the beholder and during my twenties, I didn't wear makeup.  My skin was nice and clear and I saw no reason to be made up.  I was struck by illnesses and still, I did not wear makeup.  Fast forward eight years, my neighbor knocked on my door.  She wanted to borrow some bottled water.  She looked at me kind of strange and she said, " are you feeling okay?"  I told her that I had been very sick and then she went back to her apartment.  Next time I saw her she said, " when you are sick, you should put on a little makeup because if you look in the mirror and you look sick it will kill your spirit"  Honestly, I thought she was throwing shade but I looked at myself in the mirror and I had deep circles around my eyes and I really did look sick.

I watched some Youtube videos so I could learn how to apply makeup and a whole new world opened up to me.  I saw myself in a whole new light and it restored some of the happiness that I had lost due to being ill.  When I am feeling my worst I apply some foundation and do my eyebrows and I feel good about myself.   My point is, everyone, do not have the same story and if your skin is in good shape and you have no blemishes or scars, it is good not to wear makeup but for ladies who are suffering from skin diseases or perhaps have deep scars, makeup can be good for your self-esteem.

I have never been a person who jumps on bandwagons and I do what makes me happy. If my health returns to a healthy state, maybe I will wear little or no makeup but until then, I will enjoy the blessings that makeup has given me.

How I learned to live with hairloss.

How I learned how to live with hairloss.

When i first realized that i was losing my hair, i was in my twenties.  I was combing and brushing my hair and it was getting thinner and thinner.  I was devastated because i didn't know the exact cause.
At the time, wigs weren't very popular for younger people.  I used to wear long draw string ponytails and the top of my head was showing streaks on my scalp.

I went to the library and researched and tried a lot of home remedies and i spent a lot of money and time searching for a miracle.  With each remedy i quickly grew tired of not seeing any results.  I would see all these products geared towards African American hair and the labels would say miracle this, fast grow, hair food this or that and etc.

A lot of companies are profiting off desperate people looking for a miracle and answers.  I went to Dermatologist to see if there was anything that could be done and they ran many test.  They came back with the results and said that i had Androgenetic  Alopecia. The Doctor asked me whether i had any women in my family who had major hair loss and said that i didn't know any.

I was prescribed ointments and creams and i didn't see any results.  The Doctor then recommended that i start using 2% Minoxidil  and i started to buy it and i saw a little thin fuzz but nothing major and it was getting to be very expensive.  The Dermatologist told me that if i stop using it, i would continue to see hair loss and the little fuzz would be gone also.

My faith was gone and i felt desperate.  At that point i decided that i wasn't going to be a Guinea Pig any longer and i was going to go to the wig shop and start looking for suitable wigs.  I really didn't know what kind of wig to get and i tried some on and they didn't feel right for me.

I went to another wig shop and there was a really nice lady working in there and she said "They look different on when they are styled"  I told her that i didn't know that they could be thinned out and styled and she took me over to her booth with the wig that i tried on in hand and she said " I only charge $5.00 to style it."  I let this wonderful lady thin out and shape that wig and it looked beautiful and she really changed my life.

From that day on, i was able to go in the Beauty Supply Stores and pick wigs out and let it be styled or pick some that didn't have to be styled and it really changed the way that i felt about myself.  I had been praying for a miracle and it didn't come the way that i wanted but God made a way out of no way.  He gave me a covering and a belief that he would provide if  i would let him.

Now, wigs are not only a covering but it is a way that i express myself and i just love it.
