Gorilla Snot Gel Review.

Gorilla Snot Gel Review.

Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen, I have seen so many reviews on the Gorilla Snot Gel and I didn't like the name of the product at all but saw that a lot of you liked this gel and had good things to say about the way it made your hair look and the way it holds.

This was my first time buying this particular brand and when I opened the cap I was actually glad that it was a blue colored gel, not the gel that comes out of your nose. lol.

I smelled the gel and it had a very strong minty smell and it had the exact smell of toothpaste.  I didn't care for the fragrance at all.

It was a nice size container so what the heck, I was going to try it out and see what this gel was about.

I squeezed some out and rubbed my hands together before I put it on my hair and it was very sticky, I said: " this is not going to well." Don't like products that are overly sticky.

Put it on my hair and my hair didn't feel good but when I looked in the mirror this product worked just like the reviewers said all curls were defined and it held very well.

It made my hair look so pretty but I did see a little build up in the front of my head.  Maybe I should have dampened my hair a little before I applied it.

There were some things that I didn't like about this gel as previously stated but I am going to continue to use the rest of the Gorilla Snot Gel because I do like the way my hair looks and it only cost $2.99 and you are getting 340 grams and I think that is a lot of product for that price.

It made my hair feel hard to the touch once it dried.

I think that they should keep the gel blue but make the gel with no fragrance because it felt like I was putting toothpaste on my hair (Yuck, Yuck)!

Many retailers sell this product and you can also look online to order.

How I learned to live with hairloss.

How I learned how to live with hairloss.

When i first realized that i was losing my hair, i was in my twenties.  I was combing and brushing my hair and it was getting thinner and thinner.  I was devastated because i didn't know the exact cause.
At the time, wigs weren't very popular for younger people.  I used to wear long draw string ponytails and the top of my head was showing streaks on my scalp.

I went to the library and researched and tried a lot of home remedies and i spent a lot of money and time searching for a miracle.  With each remedy i quickly grew tired of not seeing any results.  I would see all these products geared towards African American hair and the labels would say miracle this, fast grow, hair food this or that and etc.

A lot of companies are profiting off desperate people looking for a miracle and answers.  I went to Dermatologist to see if there was anything that could be done and they ran many test.  They came back with the results and said that i had Androgenetic  Alopecia. The Doctor asked me whether i had any women in my family who had major hair loss and said that i didn't know any.

I was prescribed ointments and creams and i didn't see any results.  The Doctor then recommended that i start using 2% Minoxidil  and i started to buy it and i saw a little thin fuzz but nothing major and it was getting to be very expensive.  The Dermatologist told me that if i stop using it, i would continue to see hair loss and the little fuzz would be gone also.

My faith was gone and i felt desperate.  At that point i decided that i wasn't going to be a Guinea Pig any longer and i was going to go to the wig shop and start looking for suitable wigs.  I really didn't know what kind of wig to get and i tried some on and they didn't feel right for me.

I went to another wig shop and there was a really nice lady working in there and she said "They look different on when they are styled"  I told her that i didn't know that they could be thinned out and styled and she took me over to her booth with the wig that i tried on in hand and she said " I only charge $5.00 to style it."  I let this wonderful lady thin out and shape that wig and it looked beautiful and she really changed my life.

From that day on, i was able to go in the Beauty Supply Stores and pick wigs out and let it be styled or pick some that didn't have to be styled and it really changed the way that i felt about myself.  I had been praying for a miracle and it didn't come the way that i wanted but God made a way out of no way.  He gave me a covering and a belief that he would provide if  i would let him.

Now, wigs are not only a covering but it is a way that i express myself and i just love it.

Are We Wasting Money On Monthly Subscription Boxes?

As a Blogger and Vlogger on Youtube, i get the opportunity to see the ladies show their monthly subscription boxes.  Some show some wonderful things that they are proud to get in the mail and a few of the ladies told me that it feels like you are getting a special present every month.

I am a lover of ordering online and getting special things for myself but i have not tried the monthly subscription boxes because i have seen that a few of the items in the boxes are not quality products or they sometimes come in very small sizes.

I feel that the companies are using these subscription boxes to just send you a small product to entice you to buy the bigger size product.

This concept can be wasteful in my opinion because you can take the same amount of money and just buy and try different brands each month and you don't get any surprises.

I am very wary of a company charging my credit card each month for items that they think i will like.
This also applies to the companies that send you shoes or a handbag every month. I feel that it is like subliminal messages telling us what we should like or buy.

There are some women who are very happy with these boxes but for me, a person who like to be mindful of my spending, it could be a trap because it is just an added bill that can be avoided.

If you have found a company that you are very happy with, leave your comment below.

Buy Your Shampoo From The Dollar Store To Save Money.

I grew up in a big family and with girls in the family, you will always find yourself running out of personal products, especially shampoo.  We didn't have dollar stores at that time but since we do now, we can save so much money on shampoo.

I am starting to see more name brand shampoo's at my local dollar store and that is so great.  If you have a big family, you can go to the dollar store and buy five bottles of shampoo and you will have enough for everyone without running out.

Below, I am showing you all the brands that I have purchased and I love.  Some of these items can be found at your local Dollar Tree or Family Dollar stores.

HAIR GREASE AND HAIR GROWTH

Do Hair Grease Or Pomades Really Grow Hair?

As a child I can remember sitting between my Mom's legs getting my scalp greased and it was such a soothing thing and it became sort of a ritual on Saturday nights in my home.  Mom was getting our hair ready the night before church services on Sunday.

The pomades had such a nice smell.  Mom used Dixie Peach, Ultra Sheen, Dax, and Royal Crown on our hair.  She took so much pride and care and our hair always looked nice.

I remember seeing advertisements stating that these miracle greases and pomades would grow your hair to long lengths and your hair would be thick and this would happen in a little time.

Mom started buying hair pomade called Hair Food and she used as stated and she realized her hair and ours were not flourishing like they promised.  Right then she came to the conclusion that "Grease Don't Grow Hair".

The hair care industry duped everyone and they made millions of dollars off people looking for a miracle and they are still doing it today.

These companies are in my opinion (Snake Oil Salesmen). I no longer fall for their fake promises.

It is time for us all to stop letting the industry rob us of our hard earned money.  A lot of these products are very expensive and they feel good and smell good but they do not do what they promise.

The health of your hair starts with nutrition and proper tools to use on your hair.  Heat and brushes are terrible for our hair and it should be used sparingly.

There are a lot of books on this subject and a lot of information online that will show you how to care for your hair the right way.

One book I can suggest is: No Lye! By Tulani Kinard.  She gives very good advice on how to care for your hair.
