The Truth Behind Dish Soap For Laundry

There are times when you may run out of your favorite laundry detergent and you wonder whether you should take the chance and use dish soap.

Dish soap is perfect to have in your kitchen but also to use instead of laundry detergent if that is all that you have on hand. I have been doing this for many years without any problems.  You have to make sure that you do not use any dish soap that has bleach in it to avoid destroying your clothes.

Dish soap is a degreaser which means that you can use it to pretreat your clothes that have grease stains. I like using Dawn dish soap for this but you can use any dish soap that you have on hand.

Now, to use it in your washing machine you have to make sure that you add just a short squeeze or two to avoid having soap suds everywhere. I do this when using an HE washing machine or any washing machine and I do not run into any problems.

The truth is the fact that dish soap is a cleaner like any other cleaner and it tends to be very mild.  Sometimes I will soak two of my delicate shirts in a mild solution of dish soap; rinse then wring them out and hanging them up to dry.

It works very well for washing your bras, hats, and baby clothes. Just make sure that you use one that is very mild to use on baby clothes.

This will prevent them from getting damaged in the wash. I absolutely love washing my jeans with dish soap because they will dry much faster than when using laundry detergent.

Dish soap is perfect to use if you have a ring around the collar.  Pretreat let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes and then toss in your washing machine.
It is perfect to use while on vacation if you want to handwash clothes without buying a bottle of laundry detergent.

Sometimes, I stock up on dish soap at my local Dollar store to keep on hand.

Any Cons Using Dish Soap For Your Laundry?

1. If you are line drying your clothes, they will be crunchy or a bit hard but you will not have any problems when you dry them in your dryer.
2. If you do not use dish soap with fragrance your clothes will be clean but they will not have a perfumey smell like when using laundry detergent.
3. You have to carefully avoid using too much so you don't experience any problems.  Monitor your children when using to avoid having suds everywhere.

I did a video using dish soap to wash my clothes in my small portable washing machine if you want to check it out.

"My moissanite ring review" Is it really a diamond alternative?

This post contains an affiliate link. This means that I will receive a small commission if a purchase is made.

Today I am sharing with you my video to share my love ❤️ Moissanite. In this video, you can see the sparkle and how this ring looks a lot like a real diamond.
You can check online or at your local jewelry store to see how brilliant this stone is. I have decided that I want a bigger Moissanite stone to wear with my different band rings.

I will still buy diamonds because I am a diamond lover but I will definitely be buying a lot more moissanite this year.

3 Reasons To Buy Moissanite Jewelry

3 Reasons To Buy Moissanite Jewelry.

Disclaimer: There are affiliate links in this post which means that I will receive a small commission if a purchase is made.

Moissanite jewelry is really beautiful and it has come a long way since the earlier days when Moissanite first appeared.  Some people have complained that it has an unnatural "rainbow effect."  I saw this effect years ago, and it was pretty, but it didn't really look like a diamond.

The price of this mysterious stone was very expensive.  I was quoted a price of $1000.00 for a one-carat solitaire ring.  I knew if I would just wait a little while longer, the price would start to go down.

I have been looking around and pricing Moissanite rings and necklaces, and I have found some that are authentic-looking, and the price is really reasonable.  There are three reasons why you might want to look into getting a piece of jewelry with this beautiful stone.

3 Reasons to buy Moissanite Jewelry

  1. If you have been wanting a one or two-carat diamond pendant and the price is out of your reach, this stone will give you the satisfaction of having the appearance of a diamond without the hefty price that you would pay for a high-quality diamond.
  2. You have been looking for an engagement ring with a big diamond but you really don't want a diamond because some diamonds are unethical. This would be an ideal way to get the look without any regrets.
  3. Moissanites are 9.25 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness, which means that you don't have to worry about this stone being damaged in a short amount of time.  This can be your forever stone.  You will be able to pass this down to your daughter or son many years down the road.
Make sure to look around online and also in your local jewelry stores to see the quality of the stone and to talk to a jeweler regarding this type of jewelry.

Try on rings or pendants to make sure that you are satisfied with the look of the stone before you buy it.

See if you feel comfortable wearing a non-diamond ring if this is going to be your engagement or wedding ring.

If you are not comfortable wearing moissanite and you cannot afford a real diamond of the size of the moissanite, then consider maybe a colored gemstone or even a colorless gemstone-like white sapphire, white topaz, or spinel.  They may not look exactly like a diamond, but you can still find a beautiful stone that you can be proud of.

Get Rid of THE FEAR OF MISSING OUT Once and For All!

Get Rid of THE FEAR OF MISSING OUT Once and For All!

The fear of missing out has its origins in envy.  We do not want to admit it but we see our friends and family with their new cars, homes, fine clothes, and better jobs and we wish for the same things for ourselves.

What we do not see is the struggle that some people are experiencing to pay for these items.  It can include taking on a second job, starting another business, or taking out another loan.

Those of us who are not well off often decide that we are going to not miss out and attempt to get the same things that our friends have. There is nothing wrong with working and having nice things but does your pocketbook allow you to have those things without you experiencing a hardship?

Those are the conversations that we must ask ourselves. If you are overspending because you fear that you are missing out, you have to ask yourself " who am I impressing?" and you will get your answer.

To get rid of the fear of missing out once and for all means that we have to carefully plan what we want our financial future to be.  Start saving money towards short-term goals that you want to accomplish.  If it is that new big television, start saving a little money for about four or five months and then you will be able to get it without a financial strain.

If you want a new car carefully do an online search to see what resources are available to purchase this car without paying more money than you have to.  Also, take a lot of care and pride in the car that you already have.

If you want a new home, work on your credit if it isn't good.  Cut out all unnecessary expenses.  Factor in all of the things that you will need to get this home, like repairs that this home might need if it isn't a brand new home.  Enlist some credit repair agencies to get yourself ready so you can get your home.

Nice clothing can be had with careful planning and only buying clothes from brands whose clothing is known to be long-lasting.  Splurge once per month on affordable luxuries, so you do not feel like you are missing out.

Pull back from social media and live and invest in your own truth.  Make your own dreams come through and you will be a more content person. Find peace within yourself so you do not feel like you are missing out.

25 Useful Tips To Save Money And Improve Your Budget.

A new year always makes me think of ways to cut corners and improve my budget. Right now, food and other household products are at an all-time high. Since we don't exactly know what is ahead it is the perfect time to find ways to save on some products and services, so here are my 25 useful tips to help you save money.

Disclosure: There are affiliate links in this post which means that I would receive a small commission if a purchase is made.

1. Buy meats that are on sale or at the meat counter that you can have cut up and use for stews, stir fry, casseroles, and to flavor beans and rice.

2. Shop at the dollar store for your meat seasonings, eggs, tuna fish, and soda.

3. Buy toilet tissue in bulk when you can because it will save you money in the long run. Family Dollar usually have great prices for their big bundle of toilet tissue. That is where I get mine most of the time.

4. Buy big boxes and bottles of laundry detergent because you can use them for other things like; bathroom cleaner, to clean your floors, to clean areas around your kitchen, and you can wash your walls with it.

5. Try to save fifty dollars out of every paycheck to use for emergencies. If you cannot save that much then save something even if it is twenty-five dollars.

6. Do not buy dry clean only clothes because it will cost you more, in the long run, to take care of them.

7. Buy body wash and soap only when it is on sale at CVS or buy it in bulk at Dollar Tree, this will save you so much money over time.

8. Purchase a Firestick or Roku and cut down on your cable tv or eliminate it altogether; this will save you a lot of money in a year's time.

9. Get yourself a water filter because this will save you from having to purchase bottled water.

10. Learn how to do your own nails from watching YouTube videos.

11. Buy bedspreads because they are easier to maintain than comforters.

 12. Get Amazon Prime so you can order your groceries, and also watch movies.

13. Cut down on going to the hairstylist by doing your hair yourself or just going to the hairstylist once per month and then maintaining it on your own.

14. Look online for sales for your favorite cosmetics. Amazon usually has great buys and you can also cut corners by using sites like Elf Cosmetics.

15. Treat yourself once or twice per month to your favorite restaurants and order in. The rest of the time learn how to cook your own gourmet dishes at home. You can watch YouTube videos to get your favorite recipes.

16. Stop buying coffee every time you leave your home. Buy a great brand of coffee at your local supermarket and get a coffee maker if you don't already have one and brew your own. This is a habit that costs a lot of money without you really realizing it.

17. Buy plain but well-made clothes and then add some fun inexpensive pieces to your wardrobe. This will allow you to have more clothes for less money.

18. Buy your winter coats in April and May and you will be able to get some nice coats for a little amount of money. I do this all of the time and some of my favorite coats are only $20.00 or less.

19. Invest money into taking courses that will update your skills. You can do this without paying for expensive college courses. There are many online programs that are inexpensive and you can also contact your online high school for their catalog. They usually have a lot of valuable courses that don't cost much and some schools will even give you a certificate.

20. If you are short on money you can buy refurbished or used electronics at this site called Unclaimed Baggage. I just recently started shopping on this site for replacement tablets and I will be looking to get more computers for my business from this site. I paid a total of $18.00 for a tablet only, a few years old. It works great!

21. Go to the dollar store for your pet's toys, food dishes, and also their wee wee pads.

22. Make a potluck dinner on Sunday and use the rest to take to work for lunch. This will save a lot of money even if you just do this two days per week.

23. Buy your boots for next year at Rainbow Shops in March or April. I have been able to get nice boots for only $5.00 saving me a lot of money when the Fall and Winter seasons. I usually buy five or six pairs for only $25.00 or $30.00 total.

24. Get a tuneup and rotate your car tires every year because your car will run better and also help you save on gas.

25. Buy good quality used name-brand clothing at Thredup. You will save a lot of money and stay in style. I usually wait until they have a sale and then I clean up! Buy good quality used cars to avoid car payments and put some money away just in case you need repairs.
